Our Minecraft Bastion remnant finder will help you find Bastion Remnants which are large Nether structures filled with piglins, valuable loot, and the only source in the game of the Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template — the item you need to upgrade a piece of diamond gear into netherite at a smithing table. The template isn't guaranteed in every chest, so you may need to raid more than one bastion to find one. The SeedLander Minecraft Bastion finder shows you where every Bastion Remnant generates across a wide radius in your Nether dimension, plus which of the four Bastion types you're heading toward.
Four types exist: Treasure, Bridge, Hoglin Stable, and Housing Units. Treasure Bastions are the most loot-dense, with the best chance at a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, the Ancient Debris chest rolls and the rare Pigstep music disc. Enter your seed to find every Bastion Remnant on both Java and Bedrock editions.
Bastions are some of the most rewarding and dangerous structures to raid. Regular piglins will leave you alone if you wear at least one piece of gold armour, but piglin brutes — the heavily armoured guards — attack on sight regardless of what you wear. Coming prepared with strong weapons, golden apples, Fire Resistance potions and a solid strategy makes the difference between walking away with a full bastion haul and dying on a blackstone bridge.
The Minecraft Bastion finder is essential for planning efficient Nether expeditions. Bastions and Nether Fortresses don't generate close to each other — the two alternate across the Nether — so knowing where both are lets you plan routes that hit Bastions for the templates and ancient debris, then fortresses for blaze rods and nether wart, all in a single trip.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Treasure Bastion is the most loot-dense type — it has a central chamber packed with chests around a podium, plus gold blocks built into the walls and gilded blackstone scattered around. You'll typically pull the most netherite-related loot here, including a chance at the Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template.
Three things matter most. First, wear at least one piece of gold armour — that stops regular piglins attacking you on sight. Second, bring Fire Resistance potions: Bastions sit over open lava and Piglin Brutes knock you backwards hard, so one bad hit near an edge can drop you straight into it. Water buckets don't work as a save in the Nether (water evaporates on contact), so Fire Resistance is your only real safety net. Third, bring a shield to block Brute axe swings plus golden apples and food for emergency healing. A sword enchanted with Smite is a nice bonus since some Bastion mobs are undead.
No — Bastions and Nether Fortresses are mutually exclusive in the same area, so you'll find one or the other in any given part of the Nether, but not both right on top of each other.
Bastions can spawn in any Nether biome other than basalt deltas. The most common biomes for them are the Nether Wastes, Crimson Forest and Warped Forest.
No — once a piglin brute is dead, it stays dead. There's no respawn mechanic, so each Bastion only ever has the brutes it generated with. That makes clearing one feel like a meaningful win.
